Our community outreach programs, support groups and community wellness programs are supported by the generous donations of individuals, grants and corporate sponsors.  The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association offers a number of community wellness services.

Blood Pressure Screenings

New Milford Connecticut Cardiac Pulmonary RehabFree blood pressure screenings are available throughout the area. A trained health professional will take your blood pressure and provide you with educational literature to help you keep your blood pressure under control. No registration is required.

Blood Pressure Screening Locations and Times:

  • Bridgewater Senior Center 2nd Tuesday of month 1-2pm
  • Brookfield Senior Center 4th Tuesday of month 12-1pm
  • Kent Senior Center 1st Wednesday of month 1-2pm
  • New Milford Medical Group 3rd Tuesday of month 9-10am
  • New Milford Senior Center Every Wednesday 10:30-11:30
  • Sherman Senior Center 2nd Monday of month 11:30-12:30

Health Promotion Program

Our Adult Health Promotion program helps to prevent hospitalization by providing nursing visits every 1 to 3 months to evaluate patients nutritional status, check vital signs and provide health and safety education.  If the patient reruires additional care, the nurse will contact the patients doctor.  The program is offered at no charge for many of the communities we serve. Flexappeal

Improve health, stamina and a sense of well- being with our “Flex appeal” program. This exercise program is designed to increase strength, balance and flexibility. The 6 week course is conducted by a licensed physical therapist from the New Milford Visiting Nurse Association. Each forty five minute session will include warm-up exercises, range of motion and strength training.
