That many tickets were sold to the annual garden party at the Washington Depot home of Gael Hammer and Gary Goodwin with guests modeling elaborate hats and dancing to the tunes ofSaturday Night Live perennial Christine Ohlman, the Beehive Queen, and her group Rebel Montez.

Delicious cheeses and snacks were served along with the tea of course and the chapeau concoction of professional milliner Laura Daly was so successful that one guest donated an extra thousand dollars in her honor and Ms. Daly herself was named to the hat contest’s Hall of Fame.

Founded to honor Timothy Mawson, the annual benefit this year raised around $50,000 for the services of New Milford VNA & Hospice and the Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury.
